Privacy at Love, Ima

These are plain-language explanations of how we handle your information. We are a small, trust-based product. This page explains what we store, who can see what, and how you remain in control.

What we store

We store the recordings a mother creates, along with the text she reviews and approves. We store delivery metadata — who a message was sent to, and whether it was opened. We store account information (name and email) for mothers and gift purchasers.

We do not store children’s personal information unless they create an account to respond. Listening to a message does not require an account.

Who can see what

The mother sees everything she has recorded. She controls what is shared and with whom.

Children see only what has been explicitly shared with them. They cannot see a list of everything their mother has recorded, nor messages intended for other siblings.

Gift purchasers (the family members who gave the gift) are notified when the mother begins using Love, Ima. They never see the content of her recordings unless she actively chooses to share something with them.

Love, Ima staff may access encrypted storage for technical maintenance, but we do not listen to recordings without explicit written consent, and only when necessary to resolve a technical issue the mother reports.

Mother ownership

Every recording belongs to the mother who made it. We do not use her voice, stories, or content to train machine learning models. We do not sell or license her content to third parties.

She can edit, hide, or delete any recording at any time. If she closes her account, we delete her content within 30 days, unless she requests immediate deletion.

Gift purchaser separation

A family member who purchases Love, Ima as a gift does not gain access to the mother’s content. Purchasing a gift is a separate action from receiving or viewing content. The gift creates an account and invitation for the mother; it does not create a viewing relationship.

This separation is intentional and enforced technically, not just by policy.

Children’s privacy

Love, Ima does not track whether a child has opened a message, how many times they listened, or what they did after. The mother receives a simple notice — “Your words reached them” — but not a surveillance report.

Children’s private responses to their mother are visible only to the mother. We do not surface children’s responses to other family members.

Messages are delivered via secure, unique links. These links expire after a set period, or when the mother revokes them. If a link is revoked, a child who has not yet opened the message will find it is no longer available.

Children who have already listened retain access to the message unless the mother deletes the original recording.

Storage and security

Recordings are stored encrypted at rest using industry-standard encryption. We use a reputable cloud provider. No recording is publicly accessible — every delivery link is signed and scoped to the intended recipient.

We are a small, careful team. If you have concerns about a specific security question, please contact us directly and we will answer honestly.

Deleting your content or account

A mother can delete any individual recording from within the app at any time. Deleted recordings are removed from delivery right away.

You can delete your entire account yourself from Settings. It permanently removes your recordings and account data and emails you a confirmation. If you’d rather we do it for you, email hello@loveima.com and we will, then confirm when it’s done.
